2014 is shaping up to be pretty big! Starting off next weekend with SW MINI Fest here in Phoenix, AZ. Should be a great time with over 150 MINIs and their owners hanging out, doing what they do. Photographic proof will show up right here and on the Facebook page.
I’ve snapped a few shots over the last 2 weeks in preparation for the event, you can view them below. More photos, and video, will be available during the event. Keep an eye on Facebook and my Instagram page to see them as they happen! It starts on Friday, March 28th, 2014.
This weekend I got to spend about 1,000 miles driving a 2013 Ford Fusion from Phoenix, Arizona, to Lemoore, California, and back. Along the way, the windmill farms outside of Palm Springs were passed, twice. On the second pass, I decided to do an impromptu photo shoot with the windmills as backdrop.
Speaking of windmill farms, this was a new location for me. Naturally I took advantage of that.
A place in Arizona that I keep hearing about as being an awesome place to shoot is Arizona Falls.
The site showcases the Phoenix Art Commission’s “WaterWorks at Arizona Falls” project, designed by renowned Boston artists Lajos Heder and Mags Harries. The main entrance is on the south side; a footbridge connects the north bank to the viewing platform.
Visitors, surrounded by water on three walls in the water room, may sit on large boulders as they enjoy the cool and soothing sounds of flowing water.
Through sheets of flowing water, the antique gears used in the original hydroelectric plant can be seen. Two aqueducts frame the room to create the feeling of being inside the historic waterfall. A shade structure covers stone block seats near a pool of water, allowing visitors to enjoy the experience year-round.
